I get an error "Unable to find a proper Hexen II installation" when running "Hexen II gl". But when I run Hexen_II-gl in content of package it's ok.

Try moving the apps, i.e. "Hexen II Demo - GL" and "Hexen II Demo"
using Finder (which should clear the 'quarantine' attribute from the
apps), and then move them back to their original Hexen II folder,
and run them: Does this help?

This is probably the result of a 'security feature' of Sierra and
newer: http://lapcatsoftware.com/articles/app-translocation.html

Hi. This has not helped me. But I googled "clearing quarantine attribute" and found this article, which solved my problem:
