[UM1-coders] Warnings

We now have no warnings under any of Solaris, Linux and FreeBSD.  :-)

Now I'll start working on moving the OS dependant stuff out of the main
code and into an external file - however this may take some time.

However, if you write code and you get warnings you now don't have the
excuse that it was lost in the noise of all the other warnings.
