Release of version 2.3.
This is a full release which features yEnc decoding.
Upgrading from any previous version to v2.3 is easy - just replace the ubh executable. Your existing .ubhrc and .newsrc files are entirely
forward compatible with v2.3. NOTE: This release
requires String::CRC32.
2.3 03/02/2002 Feature Requests Implemented:

This is a full release which features a new header cache updating and filtering architecture. Also includes numerous bug fixes, and a great deal of general maintenance.
The '222' disconnect/reconnect problem is fixed.
This version features disk-based article assembly. ubh can now accumulate the article(s) to be decoded into a disk file rather than system RAM. This now allows ubh to download arbitrarily large binaries, limited only by available disk space.
This release includes many bug fixes and convenience enhancements.
ubh is now tested under Mac OS X, and has been ported to MacPerl under MacOS.
This is a maintenance release which fixes a few nagging problems. First, ubh will now re-connect (and re-authenticate, if necessary) whenever the NNTP connection is lost. It will re-issue the group request, and then re-request the article body that was being requested. This represents a huge robustness improvement, especially to those users who suffer from unreliable or intermittent connections. Secondly, the uudecoder is now case-insensitive with respect to the "begin" keyword. Finally, ubh now trims trailing whitespace from ubhrc keyword values.
This is a maintenance release which fixes a nasty bug which was preventing the processing of single-part articles which contained a part/whole desginator "(1/1)". This is a one-line change, but you are strongly urged to upgrade. Download from http://ubh.sourceforge.net/download.html

ubh - the Usenet Binary Harvester - is a GPL'ed Perl console application which automatically discovers, downloads, and decodes single-part and multi-part Usenet binaries. Automatically assembles multi-part binaries. Provides searching via Perl regular expression syntax. Also provides a pre-selection capability whereby the user can interactively choose which binaries to download. Uses a standard .newsrc file to control which groups to process, and uses the .newsrc to keep track of articles already processed. Handles uuencoded binaries and MIME attachments. Runs under Unix-based Perl or Active Perl on Win32 platforms. Requires Net::NNTP and News::Newsrc (which itself requires Set::IntSpan). Download from http://www.lanois.com/ubh/download.html
ubh, The Usenet Binary Harvester, is very nearly finished. The first public release (v1.0) is expected to take place in the next 2-4 weeks. If anyone is interested in beta testing, please email me at gerard@users.sourceforge.net.
