This technology implements the Chord distributed peer-to-peer discovery and storage algorithms. It is based on UberMQ, an open source messaging engine. The final version of UberChord is expected in Q2 2003. Directions ========== To run UberChord, execute the following from the root directory of the distribution: 1. bin/chordnode.sh <port> <number-of-nodes> This will start the specified number of nodes hosted in a single process, available at the specified port. 2. To start more nodes, use the same script as above, and provide the url of an existing UberChord server. This will likely be the server you just started, above. bin/chordnode.sh <port> <number-of-nodes> [url] 3. Open the viewer by executing: bin/viewer.sh The viewer will allow you to inspect the infrastructure, store information and retrieve information stored in the infrastructure. Licensing ========= UberChord is commercial software. This preview edition is free for evaluation and testing. Any production deployment or embedding of this software must be licensed through Rhombus Technologies, LLC. Pricing models for this technology are still being developed.
