The µAnts

A book about the µAnts is now available through http://www.lulu.com/content/3701471 .
This book contains the µAnts' protocol specification, it details the µAnthill, the µAnt and the Power-µAnt projects.
It also tells the µAnts' history.
It's also an opportunity for helping with the poorest, since all this book earnings will be destinated to a charity.

Are you a home automation nerd?

Hello to every nerd!
I'm looking for those rare nerds that want to change their homes and home automation rules.
Once nerds could build a computer in their garage. Some failed, but some succeded in starting the personal computer age that changed the world, as you certainly know.
Is there today a nerd that can use a soldering iron, an oscilloscope, some micro-controllers, an assembler and a C++ compiler to build an home automation system?
I believe that there is a cheaper way to automate a house.
This way doesn't consist in writing another software which allows a PC to control a house by sending X10, Zigbee, LonWorks, EIB-Konnex, ... commands.
Only a new and different technology can break the rules, so that more and more people can benefit from home automation systems.
Since I don't like to be locked by any vendor, I developed my new home automation technology hardware and software.
I made also this technology available to everybody under the GPL license (software) and the TAPR Open Hardware License (hardware), so that hardware manufacturers can freely build my devices (and I can buy them from many sources).
My first working prototype shows that one can automate a house with devices which contain less than five dollars worth electronic parts.
If you are a home automation nerd, please, join up with me to develop the uAnts4Home project on SourceForge.net
We'll try together to change home automation rules.
If we succeed, it will be another example that the open source movement fosters innovation!
