PDF _can_ use U3D views to get camera position/orientation, AKA camera-to-world transformation matrix (but not other parameters). To do that you have to create a View for 3D Annotation in PDF that will reference U3D view.
Since you have to create a View in PDF in any case, consider setting camera there directly, instead of referencing U3D view.
The fact that Adobe Reader does not use the only View in U3D to set camera position when no PDF-level Views are present is counterintuitive (and, IMHO, contrary to PDF spec) - "rhino is myopic, but given his weight, it is not _his_ problem" ;)

I tried to create Views in IDTF.
But at the end I can not see the views in the PDF-Document.
I checked out the samples and Testscenes but all examples do not have custom views. Can someone post an working IDTF example?
