I am proposing a portal stone,

portal stones ( for now, so people can test it soon ),
will have slots ( 2 to start ). You can use a portal stone to either lock on a spot on a map or to recall a spot on a map.

Recharging a portal will be 10 gold.
This means that I expect some legwork from the player for the initial dungeoneering sessions.

    Any inputs, desires, etc ?

For now players will start with one,
I would prefer players to do a minor quest for this one.
Beating some wood urchins for example.

I think that a minor quest is a good idea.

I submit to the portal stone idea. And doing a minor quest for it is fully in the spirit of Tyrant.

      So,

the portal stone is now reality but way too powerfull.
I had two portal 15 squares distance on a deep level, just massacring monsters with arrows and then teleporting to the other end of the dungeon ;) Also it makes escaping from angry villagers/goblins/etc. way too easy ;)

      So I am adding 2 rules :
no portals to markers on the same level
( You cannot have a portal on a level to somewhere else on the same level, the spirit of this portal stone is create town portals )

This portals will crumble and be unusable if someone angry is nearby ( monster or crazed villager ).

For this I sadly need to modify the AI routine for 'findNearestFoe' , since it doesnt seem to care about angry villagers.

      Done !

You can find the latest tyrant here :
      http://tsx.sourceforge.net/

I really would like feedback on this one,
it might still be overpowered, also for now
you start with the stone, and you dont need to pay to charge up a portal.
