Worthless junk, such as pebbles and slings (and
coins!), sometimes spawns on shop floors. If you try to
buy these items, you get asked the "Steal or Leave?"
question; there's no option to buy them. So they sit in
the store inventory for the whole game... and if a piece
of junk spawns on a square that previously held a
buyable item that you bought, that square is out of
commission. In really long games, this could eventually
result in a store becoming completely clogged with
The timestamp restocking idea (over in Feature
Requests) would be one way to fix this problem.
Another way would be to set a minimum value for shop
stock, or make the shop owner charge at least a
nominal price for the junk items.
