Glad you are having success with it. Sorry to say that I haven't changed the psychoacoustics at all (yet). Well only code clean ups, which shouldn't affect the sound. I agree that the psychoacoustics really do need some work on them. The audio sounds really rough - like it is being made too loud. Audio signal processing really isn't my area, but I might look at transplanting in the psycho-acoustic code from an encoder called 'milton'. nick. Hi, Just wanted to let you know that the initial release builds, compiles and runs flawlessly on Slackware, gcc 2.95.3. Looks great! Also, I haven't really plowed into the docs, so I'm not sure what may have been changed in the psychoacoustics, but to me this release sounds better. I'm not sure how to describe that, it just seems to sound cleaner. That's purely subjective, of course, but I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth. I have just uploaded the initial public release of TwoLAME to SourceForge. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=136040 Christophe Massiot and I have tested it on a few machines and it seems to be working well, however I have changed so much code, that I am sure bugs have crept in along the way. Please let me know if you find any ! I am going to clean up the frontend in future releases, and make it more GNU in style. nick. |

Hi, The TwoLAME website is now up and running: http://twolame.sf.net/ I have also put the code into CVS, it will be a few hours before it is available anonymously. First official release coming soon.... nick. |
