#3 Speech stops at certain characters

The different speech engines used by pyttsx, as well as the OSX "say" command, have a tendency to fall down when they reach a symbol they don't understand. I've done some work on fixing this by having certain symbols changed to the english language equivalent, but I haven't caught everything, and I can't help thinking their may be a more elegant solution. Regardless, for the meantime an ongoing task to to identify symbols that mess up the speech, and add rules to catch and fix them.
