As you may have guess from the lack of any updates over the last several years, development of the palm version of Twinkle Flashcards has ceased. For those of you still using PalmOS based handhelds, I hope that the current version adequately meets all of your needs. It meets all of my needs, as I have been using it daily on >10 different stacks.

Because PalmOS is a dead operating system, I'm not going to spend any additional time developing for it. Originally, I had planned on creating a version for WebOS, however, I believe that operating system too will go the way of the dinosaur.... read more

I apologize that I haven't been around lately. With starting a new company and moving into a brand new house, 110% of my time has been taken elsewhere. Hopefully as things are starting to become a little more settled, I'll have more time for Twinkle. I guess this is one of the downsides to free software--it has to take a back burner to actually making a living. :)

The latest version of the Twinkle software have been released. The major improvement in this release is the addition of embedded image capability to flashcards. At this point, images can only be added in TwinkEdit. See the project web site for sample flashcards containing images.

Twinkle is still in development, but progress is slow. Image integration into flashcards is complete and will be available in the next release (not sure when that will be yet). My first daughter was just born last week, so you can imagine how my spare time has decreased...

New versions of the PalmOS flashcard program, Twinkle, and it's java desktop companion, TwinkEdit, have been released. Improvements include color support, application state saving, Central European encoding support, and better navigation. A new hi-resolution Japanese font is also available. New releases of both Twinkle Flashcards and TwinkEdit have been made. Aside from bug fixes, major updates include more functional encoding support and more user-friendly UI inside the card view.

Six new flash card databases have been added on the home page, including French, German, and Spanish.

Twinkle is a flashcard program for Palm Pilot handhelds that includes most features found in commercial software. Desktop flashcard editing and Japanese font support are present.
