I'm writing to ask about l18n of *content* not of language. By this I
mean things such as the collection for Australian schools
(http://tuxpaint-au.sourceforge.net/) and of Jamaican objects
(http://www.griffjon.com/projects/oss.html) (which seems not to be there
I'm writing as I don't understand *why* these are separate from the main
project. It shouldn't be the case that the default is North American and
3rd party is non North American. I've submitted stamps on UK themes - I
certainly don't want them to be in a ghetto.
I can see an argument that the stamps collection may become too large
with images from every country. I say to that - a)let's see if we get
there! b)this will be a lot better when the stamp package is split by
If pushed I think we could make individual country packs to slot in,
like the subject packs. I really don't want the stamp collection to be
balkanised like this. For example - we have lots of children of Jamaican
origin in this part of London. If we'd hosted the Jamaican stamps then
we wouldn't have lost them..
I would hope that all localised images end up in the main cvs providing
the licensing is acceptable.
(There is an interesting question on whether some country packs should
be installed automatically based on locale. I would say that would be
