This has the adventages of we not have to worry about possible mistakes
commited to mainstream, and that the diff Google ask for at the end of
GSOC is really easy to generate, but has the disaventage that the
changes the student does are very hard to integrate in main.
In the other hand, if we grant acces, the integration is automatic, and
the student will profit of working with us instead of being left alone
with its own repo, but then we should review any changes the student
does (anyway, soon or later we will have to if we want to integrate his
changes), and the diff is not so easy to produce as it may be polluted
by our commits.
My opinion is that we should grant cvs access as quick as possible,
perhaps after a couple of succesfull patches.
Ankit, we want also hear your opinion. Welcome :)
