The "reply to all" or "group reply" feature is used to send mail to the list. The other reason is that replying to the sender becomes easy; with tuxpaint-devel I have to do a group reply and then manually edit the list of recipients. See the linux-kernel mailing list for a popular example of a mailing list that doesn't force a reply to the list. Mail to you seems to be even worse. Group reply seems to send two copies to the list and none directly to you. |
