I think you should add an option for tux stamps to be applied to the canvas with a "mouse up" rather than the normal "mouse down". This will allow you to place the center of the stamp off the canvas so that less than half the stamp is visible. This allows you to place large stamps near the edge of the canvas which currently is impossible.

Currently, before you click on the mouse to place the stamp on the canvas, the center of the stamp MUST be on the canvas. If cursor is not (that is if you move the cursor off the canvas), the ability to place the stamp turns off.

Requiring that the center of a stamp be on the canvas greatly limits the placement of large stamps.

Therefore, I hope you will add a "config option" of waiting until the mouse is released (mouse up) to set where the stamp is placed. This allows you to move the center of the stamp off the screen so that less than half of the stamp will be visible.

Note: This suggested option is similar to the way that lines are drawn currently. When drawing lines, the line is applied to the canvas on the "mouse up" rather than the "mouse down". This allows you to place the center of the end of the line off the canvas which is very useful. I simply want the option to do the same thing for stamps.

Only advanced uses (10 years old or older) will want this feature therefore, it should only be a option, not the default way to apply stamps to a canvas. Therefore, in the Tux Paint Config application, you will need a MOUSE option which is "Apply Stamps with Mouse Up". The description can read, "This allows more accurate placement of stamps."

When this option is applied, probably a new sound effect will be needed for the "mouse down" and a new sound effect added for the "mouse up" when placing stamps. This will make it clear that the user can still move the mouse to place the stamp more accurately (and off the canvas, if they wish) before the stamp is applied to the canvas.
