Hey Bastien, Try git://git.debian.org/git/tux4kids/tux4kids-web.git For push, git+ssh://bzg...@gi.../git/tux4kids/tux4kids-web.git >From http://tux4kids.alioth.debian.org/git.php: > Note that the autogenerated documentation under the SCM tab at https://alioth.debian.org/projects/tux4kids assumes a single global "tux4kids" repository, and thus does not work as described there. Hopefully this will be corrected in the near future. Guess it was never corrected. Alioth is...a tad clunky, to put it kindly. Hi Bastien, Yes, TuxMath needs a hero! (And TuxType, by association, I suspect.) I highly doubt anyone will be "offended" by help with maintenance. Hi Brendan, > Yes, TuxMath needs a hero! (And TuxType, by association, I suspect.) Thanks for confirming! > I highly doubt anyone will be "offended" by help with > maintenance. Life's too short to get territorial about FOSS :) Seconded :) I sent a few emails on mailing lists I know (Sugar, an floss education list in France, and some other targets). I hope this will trigger some interest. It may help to have a short annoncement on the website, or just a URL I can refer people to quickly -- could you or someone else do that? Thanks! -- Bastien |

Sadly I'm not sure how/who to do that… (if it's still on altioh I can quite probably add to the tux4kids group there, yet I'm not sure if thats the case…) -- cheers, Holger |

Hi Holger, tbanks for your reply - the root cause of the problem was my ssh key, using DSA, which is not accepted. I uploaded a new RSA key and things are fine now, I was able to clone and push a commit. Let me know if you have suggestions on things to enhance/fix on the website. Best, -- Bastien |

"hiding" alioth more, that is, use html pages hosted on alioth, but dont use the alioth pages, except many for direct links to content. also a section, describing where the source code repos are, and how to submit patches would be cool. i think… -- cheers, Holger |

Hi all, i'm at lost (again) about what the current situation is and I would like to help clarify it so that we can all move forward. Let me know if I'm right about this: 1. David Bruce is the official current maintainer but does not have the time to continue. 2. Holger Levsen is the current Debian package manager and is still okay with packaging the Tuxmath suite. 3. Deepak has created a clone of tux4kids projects on Github and is also involved in helping with the GSOC aspects. 4. Laura has done some work on some repositories and is willing to merge this work with the main project. 5. I have write access to the alioth repositories and am willing to help maintaining the website. 6. tux...@li... is the central place for communication, even if other mailing lists exist. If we all agree on the above, that's a good starting point :) Now for questions and decisions we need to make: - @Deepak: are you willing to be the new maintainer? - @Deepak: if so, do you want to use the Github repositories as the main repositories (and sync the alioth ones)? - @Laura: are you using github, alioth or other repositories? What would you need to use the central repositories instead of the ones you use today? - @all: can we agree to archive all other mailing list and only advertize tuxmath-devel@ ? If Deepak is the new maintainer and the Github repositories are the central place for development and tuxmath-devel@ is the one place for communication, things can move forward like this: - Holger sets the alioth sync. - I update the website with these informations. - Laura submit patches against the github repos and move her development there. Let me know how it goes. Thanks, -- Bastien |

Hi, no, this is a *bad* plan, sorry. why: because it focusses on tuxmath only, but we should solve this for the bigger tux4kids project. that said… please read Bastiens list again: On Wed, Apr 27, 2016 at 10:51:41AM +0200, Bastien Guerry wrote: > i'm at lost (again) about what the current situation is and I > would like to help clarify it so that we can all move forward. > > Let me know if I'm right about this: > > 1. I very very much applaud and thank Bastien for this initiative but I *cannot* agree on it. Please include tuxtype and tuxpaint in it, and quite very probably *more* tux4kids projects. And, (long term) we need to come up with some rules / practices to define what tux4kids is. And yes, probably we should have one mailing list (only). But this list then *must not* have "tuxmath" in it's name…! Again: Bastien, thanks a lot for driving this! Much appreciated. I'm looking forward for a modified plan! ;-) -- cheers, Holger |
