We are going to be having some new hosting services (as I have already
mentioned ;-) and I was wondering if I could get everyone's feedback as
what's /really/ needed on these machines. Naturally, I want to be frugal with
respect to system resources, but I do want to cover all of our current and
future project's needs.
Here's the few items I am already aware we will need:
* CVS - http://www.cvshome.org
* CVSWeb - http://www.cvshome.org/project/www/docs/ddSourceBrowse.html
* BugZilla - http://www.mozilla.org/projects/bugzilla/
* Mailing Lists (preferably Mailman ;-)
I have also been taken with Faq-O-Matic:
http://faqomatic.sourceforge.net/
We will probably also need some sort of simple news/announcement app for each
subproject (for making web announcements or project news). Something like
Slash would be way overkill for this, but a blog would be too simplistic.
As far as Wiki's are concerned.... I've found these to be not very intuitive
for non-technical people (meaning, they'd probably be useless to much of our
intended audience). Plus, there are so many Wiki's to choose from, I'd have
no idea which were good and which weren't.
Anyway, please send me feedback of your opinions. We will soon have a
tux4kids-core mailing list where these items can be discussed, but for now,
I'm forced to use the existing mailing lists of our most active projects ;-)
