To add a translation e.g. ml.po, start with po/tuxmath.pot (*.pot stands for po template) and edit, preferably with a dedicated po file editor to avoid syntax errors but any text editor will do. Make sure to fill out the authorship header info properly. Put ml.po alongside the other po files. Also, add the new language code to po/LINGUAS. Important - the po files must be encoded in UTF-8. Next time you run "sudo make install", the machine-readable *.gmo file will be generated and installed. To test the translation, run tuxmath with the desired locale set, e.g. "LANG=ml_ML.UTF-8 tuxmath" or similar. You need to have the desired locale installed on your machine for this to work. IIRC, sometimes you need to set the LANGUAGE environmental variable instead of LANG. We can make this a GCI task. On Nov 12, 2011 1:25 AM, "Haris Ibrahim K.
