First you get an alioth account, then you request to join the tux4kids project, and as soon as I approve it you can write to our project's directory on the server, which means you can push changes directly into the repos. But for pre-GSoC purposes (e.g. studying the code, getting used to git/automake/SDL/whatever), a read-only clone is perfectly sufficient. It is also possible to contribute very nicely by emailing patches back for review, which is how almost all the Google Code-In work was contributed. Best, David |
