I am sorry I haven't responded to this sooner. I have been reeling from the horrors of the last few days, and have not even touched my computer since Monday. Tonight as I was trying to sleep (I'm an insomniac under "normal" conditions... and practically a zombie now, so forgive any typos) I actually realized this unfortunate connection between animation I drew and recent real world imagry. > Sam, would it be possible for you to adjust the 'city' graphics to > something, ermm... less disturbing? I really don't.\ My wife had a great idea, that I think we may want to consider (I'd like everyone's thoughts on this).... My wife feels that it may be too soon after this horrible thing for us to decide. She feels that we may want to wait, giving ourselves a bit of time and hopefully some sense of closure before we make this decision. She seemed to think that the graphics are sufficiently cartoon-like that if it weren't for the proximity of such terrible historic events would not be of much concern. She asked if we felt the imagery was too disturbing a week ago. If we felt it was, then we would probably want to change it. If it didn't trouble us then, then we probably want to distance ourselves from this event before we make decisions such as this. So what we may want to do is put this project on hold for a bit, and return to it sometime in the future, when we feel ready, and make the decision then. If we do put it on hold, there are several other possible projects in the pipeline we could work on. There are many ECD (early childhood development) titles we've been talking about for a few months now, and we could work on them. At any rate, I want to gauge everyone's thoughts on this. I really don't think I am in a proper state of mind to decide what to do..... Heck, one of my favorite games in the last couple of months (Twisted Metal Black for the PS2) has now become my least favorite (I can't even look at the box) because it has a final level that is now excruciating disturbing in light of what's happened. However, I feel that with time, I will be able to play the game again... And possibly with time, I wont feel ashamed I made the city animations for TuxMath that I did. I will be back online tomorrow. I will be on the #tux4kids IRC at openprojects.net as soon as I get up (pssobliy 8-9am MST) and online if anyone wants to talk. We can also discuss it on this list (but please let's stay focused). > (extremely disturbed by yesterday's events... > I slept well last night, but am not doing very well now that I'm awake :^/ > ) I haven't done well atr all. As many of you know, I have been unemployed for a while now... which means I have been home all day long everyday to watch the horrors unfold. And these things have taken over TV... you can't escape it... Tonight I would have sold my right arm just to watch a sitcom (something inane and light-hearted... something other than these live shots of the rubble!) I feel like I'm drowning in it. -- Sam "Criswell" Hart <cri...@ge...> AIM, Yahoo!: <criswell4069> Homepage: < http://www.geekcomix.com/snh/ > PGP Info: < http://www.geekcomix.com/snh/contact/ > Tux4Kids: < http://www.geekcomix.com/tux4kids/ > |
