This is a great program, but the difficulty levels
don't make a lot of sense pedagogically. The ranges
for the numbers go 1-5 and then 6-12 and then 13-20.
If you were to change it to 1-5, 6-10, 11-12, and 13-20
it would be infinitely more useful.

The reason is that this would work well with most of
the math facts standards in California and most other
states.

For instance, the multiplation table standard is part
of California Mathematics Content Standard 3.2 (Grade
3, 2nd standard)

"Students calculate and solve problems involving
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division:

2.2 Memorize to automaticity the multiplication table
for numbers between 1 and 10."

Look at the math facts from CMCS 1.2:

"Students demonstrate the meaning of addition and
subtraction and use these operations to solve problems:

2.1 Know the addition facts (sums to 20) and the
corresponding subtraction facts and commit them to memory."

The standards aren't arbitrary. For instance, children
aren't expected to memorize 11X12 because they learn an
algorythm later that year (3rd grade) that shows them
how to multiply any two-digit number by another.

If you changed it to the levels I describe, or even
better, allow me to include any numbers that I like
somehow, this program would be completely awesome. As
it is, it's just awesome.

My kids really love it, but it can be a little
frustrating to have your building destroyed for a math
fact that's not in your flashcard pile.
