Argh, as Steve pointed out, mixing the nVidia and Mesa stuff may or may not be a very wise thing to do. I apologize for not paying proper attention! Secondly, it occured to me, that I actually never did compile tuxkart on my mandrake 8 system - I did on my 7.2. I just tried, and it seems my version of plib (1.2) is too old for the version of tuxkart (0.0.6) I have. (The homepage states 1.4 of plib, but the configure script does not check, it seems). With respect to glut, etc. Here is where my headers go (which is wrong, according to standard, but at least they are found) [madsdyd@ripley tuxkart-0.0.6]$ locate glut.h /usr/X11R6/include/GL/glut.h [madsdyd@ripley tuxkart-0.0.6]$ locate glu.h /usr/X11R6/include/GL/glu.h After installing the plib library, I have no troubles compiling tuxkart, and it runs with approx 0.3 fps on my laptop :-/ I have only ever installed a mandrake 8 on a nvidia machine once, and there I installed the neccesary mesa stuff _before_ installing the nvidia driver. That worked well, with respect to the opengl stuff. > 3 Since you are running Tuxkart successfully on 8.0, what additional > programs did you need to install that were not included on the install > CDs? Is Plib the only one? I am pretty sure, yes. Mads -- Mads Bondo Dydensborg. ma...@ch... At some point, bits have to go into packets and routers need to make decisions on them.
