THey compile into their local directories, so for example:

  cd {wherever you un-tar'ed PLIB's examples}
  cd examples/src/fnt
  ./fnt_test

See my earlier comment - I guess that GLUT is not installed in the right
places.

Both TuxKart and TuxAQFH rely only on PLIB, OpenGL/Mesa and GLUT.  GLUT
also depends on GLU - but that should be *it* - nothing else.

Many Linux distro's now install all of those things as standard.
