Sometimes distributions don't install the necessary development libraries that you would require to install the game. The runtimes are there, which is why Tuxracer works, but there are no devels. The solution would be to take a look at your installation cds and see if you can find an RPM of glut development libraries. If you can't you'll have to download them. rpmfind.net is usually a good place to get hold of these things.
