Noooooo!

Is the i740 supported in Mesa now?   I don't think so.

I think the problem is that you don't have hardware accellerated OpenGL - so
everything is rendered in software - hence 1Hz (on a *good* day!)   :-(

You might want to check the Mesa homepage and see if they have an i740 version
yet.
