Maintaining that code should really be a > non-issue. I totally agree, however it's clear from Steve's emails that he simply isn't going to seem the same way as us on this. If other people want to argue with each other over this, that's fine, I know a lot of Linux people get a kick out of arguing over dependencies and libraries and licenses. But it's not going to change anyone's opinion, and as the CVS we're using right now belongs to Steve, arguing over it and not doing anything will basically just result in the version we're working on being wiped out at the end of the month. As far as I can tell, it's either get Steve to agree to a CVS branch, or fork the thing entirely ourselves, or otherwise abandon this GOTM. I am merely trying to make a suggestion somewhere inbetween these two extremes. James |
