That's weird. I'll try it on my machine. It's hard to imagine what that could be unless it's taking an exhorbitant amount of time to upload textures on the first occasion that they come into view or something. Could it be that it goes smoothly after you've 'seen' all of the track polygons inside the field of view at least once? What hardware are you running this on? > Another thing, anybody interested in a little track building HowTo or > all people interested in building tracks familiar with blender anyway? I put a bit of a HowTo on the Wiki - it's not really modeller-specific but explains how I've been building them. AC3D doesn't have the nice spline curve features that blender evidently does - so I'm using nothing but cut/paste features, plus the ability to select a bunch of vertices and do rotate/translate type operations on them. Any advice you can add to the Wiki in the light of practical experience has *got* to be a good thing if we want to get more people into the track building business. ---------------------------- Steve Baker ------------------------- HomeEmail: <sjb...@ai...> WorkEmail: <sj...@li...> HomePage : http://www.sjbaker.org Projects : http://plib.sf.net http://tuxaqfh.sf.net http://tuxkart.sf.net http://prettypoly.sf.net -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- GCS d-- s:+ a+ C++++$ UL+++$ P--- L++++$ E--- W+++ N o+ K? w--- !O M- V-- PS++ PE- Y-- PGP-- t+ 5 X R+++ tv b++ DI++ D G+ e++ h--(-) r+++ y++++ -----END GEEK CODE BLOCK----- |
