Progress Today:
* All of Norman's patches are now installed under CVS, so if you
have CVS running and CygWin installed, you can do the highly
perverse thing of running a game based on the Linux mascot under
windoze.
Hmmm - on the other hand, the 'Blue Screen of Death' guy is someone
who is pretty familiar to those Windoze users - so perhaps it's not
so bad. :-)
* I've written a guide to generating your own tracks - that's up on
the website.
* I've split up the *huge* 'index.html' into a bunch of smaller pages
so the web site is a little more 'navigable'.
Questions:
Does anyone know what it is about an HTML document that makes some
of them load all the text first - and fill in the images only when
all of the text is up?
All the pages I write seem to sit there loading images for an eternity,
then pop up the text only when all the images are there.
This isn't just a browser settings thing - some pages work one way,
and some work the other.
Since all my images are just eye candy - it would be nice if the
text always appeared first so you could be reading it while you
are waiting for the pretty pictures.
I've never been taught HTML - or even read a book about it - I've
always just copied the HTML I've seen in other people's web pages.
