Right now there's only an update of the USB CPU (tuxusb) so to reprogram  
it, simply do 'tuxup tuxusb.hex'.
--main is not appropriate here as it doesn't reprogram the USB, --all is  
fine and as the USB is reprogrammed first, you don't have to care if  
anything goes wrong afterwards.

But so your udev problem is still there. Do you get the same when using  
the daemon?
What distro do you use?
