TUTOS New Release 1.4

New Features in TUTOS 1.4

Major change: TUTOS now uses UTF-8 for all its text representation.
This means that all characters in the Unicode standard can be
represented by TUTOS - one size fits all! (There are implications
for upgrading users from earlier versions of TUTOS, who should read
the release notes carefully before proceeding.)

Extensive Ajax support

TUTOS now features extensive Ajax support on selections. Instead of
submitting a form and getting a partial match on, for example, a
product, TUTOS now uses Ajax to show matching selections as you type.

Add server-side files as documents

A new feature allows users to pick up documents from a predetermined
server directory and add them to projects.

Improved task module

Improved handling of task module, linking tasks to bugs

Counter module

A mechanism analogous to the Apache log, this module will simply
count accesses to TUTOS objects. For example, it is possible to track
accesses to a document, and verify if the person who has claimed to have
downloaded it really has.

Backup and restore

Backup and restore of TUTOS database and file repository can now be
accomplished from the client via new administrator scripts.

TUTOS has been extensively rewritten, and now depends on PHP 5 features.

Barcode support

Barcode support for inventory items \(requires installation of third
party library PHP-Barcode, and enabling of TUTOS's 'Stuff' module\)

Rich text editor

Rich text editor support for email composition \(requires installation
of open source editor fckeditor\)

Dozens of bug fixes since V1.3!
