Cannot instantiate class

    Hi -

I have just installed Turck MMCache 2.4.6 on my Red Hat 9 machine with PHP 4.2.2. I had no problem in compilation and it is clearly doing a good job of speeding up scripts.

Except .. in one particular case. I am using a PHP file manager called Owl [http://owl.sourceforge.net/]. After installation of MMCache, my Owl program has stopped working. I get the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: owl_db in /path-to-owl/lib/owl.lib.php on line 1265

Does mmcache has any problem with class instantiation with any similar scripts? Is there a workaround ?

Would be extremely grateful if anybody could suggest a fix.

    Thanks and regards
    migsey

[p.s.: I have also posted a similar topic in Owl forum.]

Try desabling the optimizer for this particular script?
      Either via .htaccess or ini_set

Luckily the good people at Owl [http://owl.sourceforge.net/] had identified the bug and provided a fix. Just uploaded the app to its latest version and all's working fine now.

      Thanks for your help though.
