Hello! I think there must be a way to have Tuckerella::File (it's TFile now), but I don't know how to do it; and I have strong feelings that the code will become kinda weird in some places (see for example Config which needs to access the Ruby File and our FIle). So, I suggest to rename TFile to Document. Any objections? Hello, I just made a first logo for Tuckerella. It is located on our main site http://tuckerella.sourceforge.net/. Also in order to climb up in google's results we should put links of this site anywhere we can. Here is a html snippet for this including the logo: ----------------------------COPY-------------------------------------- <a href="http://tuckerella.sourceforge.net/"><img border="0" alt="Tuckerella social tool" title="Tuckerella" src="http://tuckerella.sourceforge.net/logo2.png"/></a> ----------------------------END--------------------------------------- Vasilis Pappas |

It's different in many aspects. First of all it uses a centralized server (we are distributed); you should provide your gmail credentials in order the server to make an index of your gmail account (major privacy issue). Second, and most important, tuckerella is not related to file-sharing; it's a social utility. Hello! I made some refactoring changes, I hope I didn't break anything. Bill, I had a conflict in app.rb, but I think I merged your changes correctly. Please, check, if your last patch is still in. BTW, the entry point now is in tuckerella.rb, so: % ruby ./tuckerella.rb and not % ruby ./app.rb We should also remove the gmailer distribution from the svn. There is an option using rubygems to include a module and then it is fetched at run-time automagically; I will have a look into. Enjoy, -- Elias Athanasopoulos Distributed Computing Systems (DCS) Institute of Computer Science (ICS/FORTH) Heraklion, Crete A bug can become a feature by documenting it. |

Yes. There is the Ruby Gems architecture. We should definitely release tuckerella as a gem. IMHO, we should keep it as simple as possible. And yes, theming will be also great if we can support it. BTW, I have started designing the Blog service. I have committed some parts. I also put the Tools module in a separate file (tools.rb); we should put there everything generic. PS. We should keep it in English, since the list is public. Hello! I commited a TASKS list file under trunk. I am also pasting it here: 23/Mar/2008 --elathan - Automate gmail setup A script should inform the user about the gmail setup and if the user confirms the script should create: A label with the name CNFG_LABEL. A group with the name CNFG_GROUP. A filter which matches CNFG_MSGTAG and archives the e-mail and applies CNFG_LABEL to it. - Automate Login/Paths Paths should not be hardcoded, for example: ctrlChannel.mount("/resources", HTTPServlet::FileHandler, "/Users/elathan/dev/tuckerella/trunk/resources", true) A Login link should allow a user to login to her gmail and use tuckerella. - Complete the Profile edit section An e-mail should encapsulate all the user profile. Proposed command is 'p', i.e. the subject should be CNFG_MSGTAG#p and the profile owner should be the sender of the e-mail; a user may host in her account profiles of other users, too. - Design and add a blog service A blog service should contain: Creation of a blog (title, description) Posting stories to the blog Users may rate and comment on a user's blog Blogs should also be index like files - Tag system Everything should be tagged and the user should watch her index (files, blogs) as a collection of different size tags (like the one used by flickr.
