Regarding Nightly Images

Hello fellow users and supporters! We are aware of the Nightly Images uploading at 30MB file sizes. Please let me take a moment to explain what is going on...
1) Our build system is completely automated. It takes all the changes we make in real time and produces a new ISO nightly.
2) Our build system is template driven. This template describes the behavior of the build process as well as the included packages and setup of the final system.
3) When the build fails, there are two types of failures. (a) a failure that produces a bad ISO still uploads the file to sourceforge because it is an automated process, and (b) a build that fails to produce an ISO will not have anything to upload at all. So, when you see no nightly upload, this means the build failed. When you see a nightly with an odd size, this means the build failed.
4) A successful build does not guarantee a "good" image. Nightly images are not tested before uploading. They may be the most up to date, but they have the potential to be very buggy as well as receiving bug fixes in real time. ... read more

December Update

Much of the development work during the last couple months has been on the Internet Security platform end of things. However we are returning as usual to publish a new TTOS Linux build for the holidays. We end every year at new years by publishing an up to date ISO with new features every year. Returning to this tradition, we will be publishing our updated build complete with bug fixes and a few new additions to it. Until then, happy holidays and happy new years to all!

Latest upload

Latest Upload
Hi fans and users alike! We are pleased to announce that the latest upload features many improvements and enhancements. First off, we made significant enhancements to TTOS Welcome adding many more post install features, and fixing some bugs regarding non-free packages not being enabled before the NVIDIA installer runs (which is required by the installer to complete successfully). We have also made great progress on the port of TTOS Linux Studio and it is now being considered as feature complete (the command line version anyways). With these improvements comes (1) initial support for hybrid ISO creation, (2) md5 checksum creation, and (3) support for running a publish script. ... read more

TTOS PerformaSync Service

As those who visit our site and check out our official blog sites know, we have been working hard on a headless TTOS Linux Server build. Part of the project is the PerformaSync services that we wish to offer to the public as a service that runs on top of TTOS Linux Enterprise Server. Since this requires some data center equipment that we simply can't afford to get started, we are asking that anyone who wants to speed up development please donate (link on our homepage https://www.ttoslinux.org ) in order to speed up the process. If you can't, we'll get there eventually, just sit tight and please bear with us. In the mean time, we will continue developing the platform under Virtual Machine to keep it up to date and tested. So here is a description of what PerformaSync is and what it's rold in TTOS Linux will be along with how it benefits you, the user and what the target audience is.... read more

Revamped website

As many of you may have noticed, our website was severely outdated and filled with dead links and a non functioning search bar since it's incarnation. We are pleased to inform you that our website has been overhauled today and is far more functional and updated. We also now include a new download section where the user (you) may select a version of TTOS Linux in which to download. Just remember, all other desktop environment versions other than KDE are pre-release and not yet completed. We are open to suggestions for packages to include into the base systems installed, so please email tomtravers@ttpc-systems.com in order to make a request or suggestion.

Alternative Desktop Download

TTOS Linux Announcement

Our build system uses a modular template driven system for automation of the creation of TTOS Linux ISO images. The automated system builds them daily, and periodically test them periodically before uploading to sourceforge. Our latest uploads include a bunch of alternative desktop edition ISO's. These builds are pre-release and included package selection and artwork is subject to change before an official release is made. Please feel free to check them out! The link on sourceforge is hard to navigate if you are not familar with sourceforge UI, so here is a screenshot of where to find sub projects to download...

New ISO's released!

New ISO images for alternative desktop environments have been uploaded for download. In addition to this, we also uploaded and updated build of the standard KDE based TTOS including the past bug fixes. We are in the process of updating the artwork and theming so keep an eye out for finished builds. For those that are currently running an install of TTOS Linux, the new artwork will automatically be pushed via apt upgrade.

Major Bug

BUG FIX
TTOS Linux 1.1 has been based off of Debian 10 before it became stable. When Debian 10 switched from testing stage to stable stage, it caused an error in package management due to mis matched labels. In order to fix this, you have to run the folloing commands in terminal as root

root# apt-get update
root# apt-get upgrade

It will present the error and ask if you wish to update the settings to repair the error, just choose yes. Then redo the same two commands to verify that the error is gone. ... read more

New release!

This release is just a bug fix release. Upon first install, apt and packagekit background tasks prevented TTOS Welcome from performing installation tasks until the background tasks were complete. Depending on the size of the tasks, this could take some time. This is clearly a performance issue. To speed things up, the default behavior was changed to allow TTOS Welcome to complete it's tasks right away. Feel free to download and try out the new ISO!
