Revolution UI:
We're making great progress on Revolution UI. Right now, it's just minor bug fixes and theme tweaks and it's almost ready for release. We added theme support into the settings utility so it is capable of loading saved themes. You can customize a saved theme and back it up from the backup utility to re-apply if needed. The included themes are designed to mimic other operating systems to ease transition for new users. KWin has been forked into RevolutionWM in order to keep KDE from changing Revolution UI configuration and to keep Revolution UI form changing KDE configurations. Both can now co-exist on the same machine. The source is kept in our in house repositories available on our website. Registration is required but software is open source and being released under open source license. I'm including the screenshots of the new UI below.
TTOS Linux 1.3 Detroit:
Currently the installer fails because it can't resolve host names to download appropriate GRUB packages for the configuration chosen. You can get an image to install by opening a terminal and typing
sudo echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" > /etc/resolv.conf
Closing Notes:
Final release of TTOS Linux 1.3 will be after Revolution UI is production ready. The default UI will still be KDE for the time being but future releases will default to Revolution UI while support for others will be dropped (only community builds from those that make them will continue support for alternative DE's). Have a great day and keep checking back for more updates!
