Hello there!

It has been brought to my attention that calamares installer has been having segmentation faults starting with all 2024 ISO's. I have set the default download to 12/25/23 ISO as this is the ISO I last tested and comfirmed working. In the meantime, I will work on an updated install ISO by switching the installer to either testing or sid. The problem will work itself out whenever an update is published and it's likely to hit sid or testing first.

I also discovered another bug on some hardware. It seems that sometimes, dhcp does not assign a DNS address. I have corrected the issue manually by specifying DNS but if it isn't done automatically prior to post installation setup, then the post installation setup will fail without notification and the resulting system will be an incomplete install. I will fix this by updating the post installation script to detect internet and manually set DNS if internet fails. If this fails, the post installation should crash with no internet error and allow you to setup internet (WiFi or LAN) and then restart to continue with post installation setup. This behavior change should guarantee a successful install.

To better improve choice, the next task is porting TTOS Welcome to a static build with DE detection for internal tools and also updating the post installation script to allow DE Selection (Desktop Environment) eliminating the need for separate builds and downloads. The program will require internet access as it does now but it will transform the install to use the DE of the users choice.

To better understand what TTOS Linux is... It is a desktop operating system. It isn't meant as a Live ISO. The reason being is that the tools that set it apart from others is meant for bare metal hardware such as the NVIDIA installer and GameStream Server. These tools don't work well under VM. Installation of everything except NVIDIA drivers can be tested under VM but functionality of NVIDIA drivers and GameStream server need full hardware to test.
