In gnome desktop with compiz, full screen mode will occupy all desktop workspaces (you can change workspaces by pressing ctrl+arrow, but you will find that all workspaces are occupied by tsclient). Obviously it's a serious bug. Hope it will be fixed as soon as possible. Thanks.
I have the same problem running Ubuntu 8.10.
