To make a sim for the curious.. we can be clever by using maps for points.. So the mad idea would be to - embed a map in the application - and then "punters" can browser map and add "stations" - and add some intersections etc - and create a genral "points" - so these are geographical point - and then we can share this.. and others can - add the signals etc.. - and even the rail.. This is possible with postgis.. which is what I am playing with.. along with qt5 and other computers and rasperry pi on train as part of my signallers.. schedule ;-) Its possible, and indeed usign postgis does allow to create geopoints, and sitance calculations, on a map.... To make it work, we need to make the online app, accessible from ts2 then we can map the "real world" into the Signals.. etc.. Anyway.. Flightgear which is another sim I play with has a few features we can integrate with for fun.. And then also meta data we can "use".. eg network rail uk data feed of all stations.. and other "open" meta data that is officiall.. Timetables are also published.. So we could have a lot of fun with that stuff I think... It would really stres people out.. and if they stick their tounge out and got Out the door, and slam it shut because of a signal error... and the trantrums.. then we know that either.. - out software crashed, - the data was wrong - or indeed.. your sacked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he he anwyway sharing thoughts.. for fun Pete |

Cordialement NPi ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi, Thank you for your interest in TS2. There was indeed a bug in the windows installer version which prevented saving games. This is now fixed. The new version of the installer (TS2-0.4.1b-x64-setup.exe) can be downloaded from sourceforge.net. Don't hesitate to report any other problems. Hi, Thank you for using TS2 and for your feedback. I found the bug you mentioned and fixed on the source tree on GitHub. I will release a new version shortly. It happens only when a 4-cars train stop at the signal that is currently yellow on your picture. In the meantime, you have several possible workarounds: 1. Do not stop 4-cars trains at the said signal. OR 2. Increase simulation speed (this should not appear if simulation speed is 3x or above, maybe not with 2x) OR 3. Edit the simulation using the editor, go to the scenery tab, click "unlock scenery", click on the track behind the "yellow" signal an in the properties tab change the "real length" parameter from 80 to 85. Save the simulation. Close the editor and reload the simulation. 4. Install from sources the new version I have updated on github ( https://github.com/npiganeau/ts2 and follow instructions at the bottom of the screen) Regards NPi 2013/11/4 Brendan Meyer <bre...@gm...> > Hi, > > So far I am really enjoying the game, But I am unable to get up about 40 > mins in to the Liverpool Map > > After the 5K04 travels to Platform 15, I get a red block (usual a train) > as in the picture. > The 5K04 stops at the signal (that is currently yellow on that track) to > allow the 2W02 out of Platform 16 > As you can see the the 2K03 is blocked at the Red signal. > > This being fixed would be great, so that I can continue to play the map. > > Thanks > Brendan > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Android is increasing in popularity, but the open development platform that > developers love is also attractive to malware creators. ts2 - Train Signalling Simulation v0.11 alpha1 Being amazed of the number of people who downloaded the alpha0 release, I have decided to release another alpha including windows binary for everyone's testing. Please keep in mind that this is still alpha software and should be regarded as a trailer and not a real game yet. For all support, please post to our mailing list ts2- de...@li... or see the forum on the sourceforge project page http://sourceforge.net/projects/ts2/ TS2 Home page : http://ts2.sourceforge.net |

Hi, Welcome on the TS2-devel mailing list! This list is to discuss everything about Train Signalling Simulation (TS2), that is: - Development: Post here your bugs reports, feature requests, proposed patches, etc. - Simulation creation: Get support for creating your own simulations. - Compile and installation issues. - Playing issues. As you have noticed, TS2 is still alpha software and is not really usable yet, but I hope to be able to release the first beta in one month or two. The beta1 version will be shipped with binaries for the MS Windows version. In the meantime, you can compile the sources using Qt4.4 (www.trolltech.com) and have a look at what TS2 will be like.
