1.7.1 and server side update checking

I use a script server side to check version (to update index file and other resources not served by auto updater, such as the auto updater script itself). However, constantly increasing version number on server makes the number obscenely large, so after I implement a working minor revision code snippet, I will not be pushing out v1.7.1 (24.1).
