I have a Dell OptiPlex 755 with an STMicroelectronics TPM. I have downloaded and compiled trousers and tpm-tools for Fedora 8. I get the following errors (and yes, the TPM is activated and enabled in the BIOS, I can probe it in WinXP using Wave and NTRU drivers, but I did not take ownership under WinXP):

#tcsd -f
TCSD TDDL ERROR: Could not find a device to open!

Tspi_Context_Connect failed: 0x00003011 - layer=tsp, code=0011 (17), Communication failure

I have tried to install the tpm modules with modprobe tpm (including tpm_atmel, tpm_infineon, tpm_nsc, and tpm_tis) but none of these seem to work. There is no /dev/tpm0 after I install the modules.

My my question is: Is the ST TPM supported under Linux (specifically Fedora 8). If so, how do I install the driver (detailed instructions please). Do I need to have /dev/tpm0 for trousers to work or trousers a driver?

Also, does anyone know the which specific TPM the 755 uses, is the the ST19WP18? Is there any better documentation on it other than the 6 page datasheet from ST?

Thanks in advance,
