    Hi,

i've a problem with update of tripwire database.

    my twcfg.txt include follow REPORTFILE:

    REPORTFILE =/var/lib/tripwire/report/$(HOSTNAME)-$(DATE).twr

now, the attempt to update the database with 'tripwire -m u' failed:

    [root@debian]/etc/tripwire#tripwire --update
    ### Error: File could not be opened.
    ### Filename: /var/lib/tripwire/report/debian-20030608-125143.twr
    ### No such file or directory
    ### Exiting...
    [root@debian]/etc/tripwire#tripwire --update
    ### Error: File could not be opened.
    ### Filename: /var/lib/tripwire/report/debian-20030608-125145.twr
    ### No such file or directory
    ### Exiting...
    [root@debian]/etc/tripwire#tripwire --update
    ### Error: File could not be opened.
    ### Filename: /var/lib/tripwire/report/debian-20030608-125148.twr
    ### No such file or directory
    ### Exiting...
    [root@debian]/etc/tripwire#

i've seen other twcfg.txt and each of them
    include $(DATE) in the REPORTFILE...
    (i.e. http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=151244&forum_id=9175\)

    and after a:

    tripwire --update --twrfile /var/lib/tripwire/report/insite-20030608-123829.twr

it open my vi and after :q! and passphrase the check still shows the same changes as before :(
("Remove the "x" from the adjacent box to prevent updating the database
with the new values for this object." => i've nothing removed. only ":q!")

how to update correctly a tripwire database?

    TIA
    Tobias
