I've downloaded the latest version of tripwire-src
(2.4.0.1), and the INSTALL file only has a few
"Building from source" steps, the "Installation"
header, and nothing after that.

To make this work, I had to create a link in the root of the
    source directory `ln -s contrib install`.

The tripwire-bin download (same version 2.4.0.1) INSTALL
file is the same -- nothing after the "Installation" header.

    I downloaded tripwire-2.4.0.1-x86-bin.tar.bz2, unzipped it
    all in /usr/src/.

    Procedure was as follows:
    1) Went into /usr/src/tripwire-2.4.0.1-x86-bin/contrib
directory and made softlinks for bin and install with:

    # ln -s ../contrib install
    # ln -s ../bin bin

    2) Edited
    /usr/src/tripwire-2.4.0.1-x86-bin/contrib/install.cfg to
check path variables, and make sure the script will install
libraries etc. where I wanted them to.

    3) # ./usr/src/tripwire-2.4.0.1-x86-bin/contrib/install.sh
