Is this in response to this, https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2780724&group_id=44492&atid=439737 The problem isn't selecting the correct IP, since the server (and the rest of the games in the network) will use the IP address the server sees, which must be a network reachable address. The problem with that bug is that if a user has multiple network cards, the user can't select which one to use. This is in the code, Enumeration enum1 = NetworkInterface.getNetworkInterfaces(); There was a thread on the forum about it here as well, http://n2.nabble.com/Not-reachable-to-the-internet-need-to-change-router-setting-tp3000051p3130308.html I think this is a fairly rare bug.
