Please remove me from this list. I have never learned enough java to =
contribute anything to this project.
I am currently working on my own new A&A project. It will be written in =
Delphi (Object Pascal), just because that's the language I can pump =
stuff out fastest in, and I've never been convinced Java is ready to do =
the things I need done--fast specialized graphics, etc.
The goals of my project are:
*To use a centralized server for games to avoid firewall, router, and =
saved game issues;
*To use the WarZone for players to start and watch games;
*To equal or exceed the graphics and ease-of-use of the Hasbro CD-Rom =
*To support A&A R3, A&A R4, A&A Europe, and user created scenarios;
*To make scenarios easy to create for computer neophytes;
*To integrate voice communications directly into the game--I hate =
My version will blatantly trample all over AA's copyrights and use the =
map, etc., from Hasbro's A&A, so I'm going to attempt to actually work =
out some licensing of rights with Hasbro. That likely means it will =
have to be shareware rather than freeware to pay Hasbro some royalties, =
unless they're feeling implausibly generous.
I have the greatest respect for what you have all done with TripleA, and =
I wish you well on it.
Feel free to write me if you have any questions or comments.
