I was thinking if it might be possible to set bids of units, allowing for powers to receive specific numbers of units. As an example: the US getting 2 infantry as preset bid to place for a number of turns.

you can already do this in a manner of speaking...

you can having something called "unit held", which is part of the unit placements
instead of placing it on the map, the unit is just waiting for the nation to place it
basically, it is just like the nation bought those units at the start of the game

those units then get placed either at the beginning of the game if you have a bid, or if there is zero bid then they get placed during the user's placement phase

this is of course only a 1 time deal, and it is not a delegate so you can't repeat it for x turns like you can with the bid delegate

to see how it works, and to see the exact syntax needed, please download "ww2v4" and then check out the game called Free for All v2

I've just had a look at the scenario you mentioned and it is very close to what I was looking for. Thank you very much for the heads-up.

Just tried it and I'm getting an error although it works. However you can only place those units at the bid phase if there's also PUs for bid, so the ability I was looking is not available yet.

I'd like to see something like A&A Battle of the Bulge game where you have set reinforcements for every turn instead of purchases. This feature would also open up for all new types of games to be imagined up.
