just wanted to attach a savegame.
I have set the germans to start with paratroopers on, to have the bomber transport capacity set to 9, and to have both artillery and armour also have the isInfantry.
the result is that when i want to transport more than 1 guy on the bomber, i will only transport 1 guy, unless those guys are not infantry (check france), which is really weird
I should be able to:
pick what gets loaded into the transport (pretend the bomber has a capacity of 10, meaning it can carry 5 infantry, or 3 tanks/artillery, or some combination like 2 infantry and 1 tank and 1 artillery)
and i should be able to fly them all to the destination and drop them off
in order to keep backwards compatibility, we need to keep isInfantry, blitz, and strategic bomber all working AS IS (blitz does the mechanized movement thingy with the tech on)
but we need a new set of unit attachments:
canbeParatrooped (currently isInfantry does this)
canAirTransport (currently strat bombing does this)
canfollowMechanized (currently isInfantry does the mechanized bit)
canCarryLand (currently blitz does the mechanized bit)
canBomb (currently stratbombing does this)
(also, isMarine currently functions as isInfantry, which i think should be undone. this will not cause backwards compatibility issues, because noone is using tech on any maps with marines that i know of.)
and we need a Property called "Can non-combat paratroopers", which allows you to move paratroopers to a friendly territory (that you owned at beginning of turn) during non combat (or even during combat phase)(but both units will be out of moves after they stop, including the aircraft being out of moves after it stops).
for the loading issue, you need to make it flexible,
so that if i have a bomber starting somewhere that has a mix of units that can be transported, should not automatically fill with infantry. i should be able to fill it up with whatever combination i want, based on the transport capacity of the bomber, and based on the transport cost of the units. This also means that if I had a bomber with transport capacity 2, and a superbomber with transport capacity 3, and both armor and infantry have the canbeParatroop attachment, THAN only the super bomber can carry the armor.
also, if i have multiple bombers in a territory, i should be able to load each of them individually.
