Trinity Ports 0.1.1 Released

KDE 3.0 and latest GNOME are added, tons of new applications and games. Some fixed bugs and tons of new. Some of the ports, dont have maintainers, if you want to join as port(s) maintainer send mail to ep98@users.sourceforge.net

Trinity Wine Success section added

In this section we will place, information/micro howto/ about 100% working with pure unmodified version. All games and applications was tested and can be run under Wine, without any problems. If you want to contrib send mail to ep98@users.sourceforge.net.

PKGTOOLS-4.0.1-darkeye Released

Two level dependecies was added in pkgtools, Important and suggested, for more information, check the release change log.

Good times, Bad times

The good - Trinity package managment will be release as stable, and independece that Per's pkgtools-4.0.1 next week. The bad, most of the members do nothing, and I made somechanges, Trinity Development Team, was never have a Task manager. Now this position is open, until a Real Task Manager will come. Full report for the Trinity Progress will be placed later, when i'll come to my work place, maybe in few days.

fitst must be added platform, for packagers that add and maintain binary packages, it's looke like:

last is the date of the release

3 new public forums are added

Tree new public forums are added, and all of them are open to all.

Trinity 0.1 (Phoenix) comming

After long time of testing, and checking, 1st testing release of Trinity will be ready in two weeks. Or tree maybe. It will be based on 2.4.18, GCC 2.95.3, GNU Libc 2.2.5, devfs, and ReiserFS, JFS and XFS. Ext3 will be optional. It will run only on i686 aka Pentium II, III and IV systems. For AMD Athlon, Athlon XP and Duron, we will made a future upgrade.

Ports 0.1.0 Released

The base ports is released, and is available for download and test.
To do:

To move all unmodified sources to our hosting provider.
To add more ports.

PKG Tools 4.0.1-1 Released

Removed warning "unable to remove XXX: Directory not empty" when upgrading a package.

Packages are now identified by their names only (and not by name and version as before). This makes it easier for users to upgrade and remove packages. This, of course, comes with a price. You can not install two packages with the same name.

The naming convention for packages are now:
name#version-release.pkg.tar.gz... read more

Status changed

In the begining of Trinity OS, we start to re-design and modified the BSD Kernel, but we see that this is not good idea, the problem depends on the difference between PowerPC and other platformce. It a very hard job, to make a stable and secure BSD Kernel. Than we realize this, we made some changes in our sources, and soon will post a highly modified linux kernel 2.2.20, with some security addons, fixes, and i hope, that this project will grow and up every day
