I (seem) to have figured out how the font texture gets sliced into characters and created a grid image that should help creating font textures [1]. Then I created a NotCourierSans texture using that grid [2].

I created this to replace the old font, which is not clear regarding license/author/origin. Can a developer approve of this font being used as a replacement?

I think I spotted at least one error there. Perhaps somebody knows how big each character's box is and whether there are margin/padding?

Unfortunately, the click-area is a bit weird, it starts too soon at the top and not soon enough at the bottom, this I had to do, so 'g' and so on are not cut off at the bottom. Here are the texture files for testing:
