Instead of using a configured resolution value try and query the desktop resolution and start the game using that resolution and full-screen mode. It should be possible to over-ride this behavior in the configuration file. Perhaps a resolution="auto" could mean use the desktop resolution and ignore the configured width and height and resolution="manual" to use the configured values.

A later version of SDL may provide a cross-platform way to query the system for the desktop resolution.

    If this feature get's implemented we need to care for getting undistorted proportions of the game and background screens.

    Andrei, is this something you can imagine to solve without much hazzle?

    Automatic video mode was introduced in revision r709.

    The updated trigger-rally.config.defs configuration enables it by default: now we must decide whether we keep it that way for 0.6.4. Personally I'm biased in favor, because as a Windows user I expect all games to start in fullscreen.

    Anyway, you must update your Trigger Rally configuration:

        <video
            automatic="no"
            width="640"
            height="480"
            bpp="0"
            fullscreen="yes"
            requirergb="no"
            requirealpha="no"
            requiredepth="yes"
            requirestencil="no"
            stereo="none"
            stereoeyeseparation="0.07"
            stereoswapeyes="no"
            />

    Thanks. Again, on my system it instantly worked. :)
