TreeViewAdv is just what I need, or at least it would be if it were not so old that it was not compatible with VS2017+!
After conversion, when I try to launch it I always get
System.ArgumentException: 'The assembly '...\treeviewadv\Aga.Controls.dll' does not contain any UserControl elements.'
If you tried downloading the dll then that might be a dependency issue since the last build is old. If so you'll probably need to get the code and rebuild, or directly add TreeViewAdv as a dependency project.
Either way, personally I would try to avoid .net framework and winforms and look for .net 7/8 with WPF
