Am I being too cute if I call my talk "TreeBASE2: Rise of the Machines (-readable architecture)"? If I do, would it be OK to just say TreeBASE is released under a "BSD-style license"? I mean, isn't that where we stand right now? -- Dr. Rutger A. Yes, you should mention it in the abstract. (The documentation states that.) If you don't, reviewers (or committee members) have to go looking for it. > If I do, would it be OK to just say TreeBASE is released under a > "BSD-style license"? Why not say "BSD license"? Isn't it a BSD license? Great, thanks, here's my opening sentence right now: TreeBASE[1] is a database of peer-reviewed phylogenetic data and metadata. 1. http://treebase.org, source code available at http://sf.net/projects/treebase/ under a BSD license. So it's the first footnote. I suppose that's OK? Maybe it is just the timezone I'm in but I feel like I'm about to turn into a pumpkin. In half an hour I'm going to upload the attached abstract to the registration site. OK? Hi guys, Can we do a new build? Several improvements include: - our analysis GUI is now compatible with IE8 - our analysis step download is working again, this time a single taxon block is referenced by both input and output objects, and taxon labels are sorted so that PAUP does not scramble names and matrix rows. - charsets and codonpossets now reference specific character blocks - TreeBASE ids are now presented as URIs regards, Bill |

Do you want to see it on treebase-dev first or on production right away? --VG On Apr 22, 2010, at 2:32 PM, William Piel wrote: > > Hi guys, > > Can we do a new build? > > Several improvements include: > > - our analysis GUI is now compatible with IE8 > - our analysis step download is working again, this time a single > taxon block is referenced by both input and output objects, and > taxon labels are sorted so that PAUP does not scramble names and > matrix rows. > - charsets and codonpossets now reference specific character blocks > - TreeBASE ids are now presented as URIs > > regards, > > Bill > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > _______________________________________________ > Treebase-devel mailing list > Tre...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/treebase-devel |

Hi all, please find attached a first draft of my abstract for iEvoBio. In terms of dividing up the work I think I will spend most time talking about PhyloWS and NeXML (both as relevant for TreeBASE) and not that much time talking about CDAO per se. In a separate mail I have sent all relevant people* I have put a link to a web folder that contains an editable version of this abstract, and the powerpoint slides which I will be adapting for iEvoBio (they're from the CIPRES all-hands meeting so they'll need some work). All comments very welcome! Rutger * that I could think of in the spur of the moment. Please let me know if I accidentally left you out!
